During the last business trip, I had the great opportunity for a business trip to Querotaro, Mexico. It was my first visit to Mexico. Ironic that I'm California but I had to move to Germany in order to finally take a trip to Mexico.
Sometimes in my fantasies, I imagined that I'm married and that I come back home, all tired, from a long day work. I'd plop down on the couch, stick my feet on a coffee table, and turn on Sportscenter or whatever's on. My wife, who's already come back home from work, asks me how my day went and I start to tell her about my day. Never in a million years did I think that I would say, "I just spent the day ripping open over 600 diapers." (This wife fantasy would be happening quite far in the future, mind you.) OK, random thought over.
So tomorrow marks my 1 year anniversary of starting work here in Germany. I suppose that usually when people have anniversaries or birthdays, those times are periods of reflection. So in keeping with that idea. Let's just recap a few of the things that I've learned and done in the past year. Read more...
Hi all.
Just to let you know. I'm still doing fine and still in Germany. I've just been super busy with business and personal matters. Most of them have been sorted out through various means or ways. Tomorrow will be the 1 year anniversary of my arrival in Frankfurt. I'll try to post something tomorrow if I can get a chance.
But just to illustrate the busy-ness, within the last two weeks, I've been to Chicago, Houston, Mexico City, Querotaro (Mexico), Austin, Shreveport (LA), Cleveland, and Cincinnati. I've got an upcoming business trip to Koln on Thursday and then a pleasure trip to Barcelona and London in 3 weeks and then possibly a trip to Israel in December. Don't worry, I'll be going to Tel Aviv. My Israeli contacts reassure me that the fact that Tel Aviv is 60 miles south of Haifa ensures that there will be minimal danger if I went there. We shall see.
It was a tough race against travel agencies and energy companies. But we got 2nd place in the dragon boat race on Sunday out of about 20 people. The prize for 1st and 2nd place was a dragon boat drum while 3rd place got an oar. I kind of want to steal the drum since its pretty cool but they're putting the drum on a director's desk in the company.
